3 Countries Learn to Make Shells Handicrafts in Seribu Islands

Shells handicrafts in Seribu Islands infact attract 3 neighboor countries, they are Solomon, Fiji and Papua Nugini islands. Those 3 countries delegate their representatives to learn how to make shells handicrafts to Pramuka Island, Panggang Island Urban Village, North Seribu Islands.

They have shells waste in their country, but it's not exploited well. Now they're about to learn to make shells handicrafts

The activity is conducted as a follow-up of Foreign Minister, Retno Marsudi to those 3 countries in the middle of February ago.

"They have shells waste in their country, but it's not exploited well. Now they're about to learn to make shells handicrafts," said Technical Director of Foreign Affairs Ministry, Siti Mauludiah, Saturday (12/5).

Shells Waste Valued Economically

The three countries which are also called as Melanesia Spearhead Group (MSG) countries, previously had gotten learning from Seribu Islands Famuly Welfare Movement Team (TP PKK), that brought directly by Foreign Affairs Ministry and Maritime and Fishery Ministry (KKP).

"These representatives will be in Pramuka Island for a week to get the learning how to make handicrafts and how to package them to be economically valued," she explained.

Before that, Foreign Ministry of Fiji and Solomon Islands symbocally gave aid in from of cutting machine and grinder to make the handicrafts in Indonesia.
